The new 2025 Family Carnival will take place on Saturday 19 April 2025 at the Solway Showgrounds.

The carnival will provide five hours of action-packed entertainment for the whole family – and for children young and old – to enjoy. 

​

The Noodles, one of New Zealand’s top covers bands, will be bringing their high-energy performance to the festival, playing everything from classic rock anthems to today’s hottest hits. Their dynamic sound and infectious energy will have the whole family up on their feet, dancing the night away. ​​

Your all inclusive tickets provide you with live music and entertainment, cold-balloon walk throughs, a face painting zone, animal balloon artists, and an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids.

 

Ride the ferris wheel or merry-go-round, try the Human Fly, go on the bouncy castle, or test your skills at the amusements to win a prize! These activities are at an extra cost.

 

There will be a feast of food and beverage options available to purchase at Food Truck Heaven, bring a picnic or purchase a gourmet picnic hamper created by chef Travis Clive- Griffin of Entice (see below) and park up on the grass to enjoy an afternoon and evening of entertainment.

Once it gets dark, the balloons will be inflated, glowing like gigantic light bulbs, tethered to the ground. These will be set to live music, providing a spectacular glow, and an impressive finale to the evening festivities.

Programme Schedule:

2pm: Carpark opens

 

3pm: Gates Open

​

3pm onwards: Entertainment begins. Play on the rides, get your face painted, do an Easter Egg Hunt. Check out the Noodles on the Entertainment Stage. Grab a bite to eat at Food Truck Heaven. 

​

3.30pm - 4.15pm: Magic Show

​

5pm: Easter Egg Hunt finishes (unless all chocolate is gone earlier!)

​

6.30pm approx: Night Balloon Glow

​

8pm: Event concludes

Raw broccoli salad with cranberries, seeds, currants, herbs, lemon & olive oil
Roasted root vegetable salad with baby spinach & balsamic vinaigrette
Freshly baked bread & butter

Gooey lemon meringue & chocolate ganache cake

 

Hampers can be purchased on Eventfinda - pre-orders only. Order by 2pm Wednesday, before orders close off. Hampers to be picked up from the Entice stall next to the grandstand between 3pm - 6pm on the night.
